French Gaming Chip Set. France, late 19th century. Leather clasping gambling set, the lid stamped in gilt ?W.F." Fleece-lined compartmented interior, marked on underside lid by Briotet Caro Succr., Paris. Contains 54 blue ?25", 54 aqua ?50", 54 ?One Hundred," and two mother of pearl for ?Five Hundred" and ?One Thousand." All chips monogrammed on opposite side ?WF". Some red tiles with dark spots and dry residue; scratches and losses to leather case. Overall chips very good in good case.
