Gibson, Walter. A Smith-Corona Typewriter Owned and Used by Gibson. A gray-bodied Smith-Corona Coronet Electric typewriter, housed in the original locking travel case with key, obtained from Gibson’s estate in an auction of his personal belongings held on April 16, 1994 in Kingston, New York (sale tags affixed). Accompanied by a Supergraphics COA endorsed by Jim Steranko, stating that “the machine… is from the Gibson estate, originally owned and used by the writer to generate copy for his many works.” Together with two typed pages from a true-crime story by Gibson also mentioned on the COA, and related ephemera including examples of Gibson’s personal letterhead and return envelope, a flyer and brochure for Gibson’s magic show, and the Gibson memorial issue of Pulp Collector (Wtr. 1986).
