[GIBSON, Walter B. (1897-1985), his personal archive]. Large Group of Hundreds of Newspapers and Clippings Used for Research. [V.p., ca. 1950s]. Entire sections of newspapers, numerous clipped articles, several articles glued onto cardstock for reference. AN ENORMOUS COLLECTION OF GIBSON'S RESEARCH ARCHIVES OF CRIME STORIES, MAINLY USED FOR STORY IDEAS FOR "THE SHADOW" AND HIS OTHER CRIME STORIES OR ARTICLES. Some of the newspapers have pencil or ink markings, presumably in Gibson's hand. These newspapers are from all over the United States, and a few foreign countries (a few newspapers are in foreign languages). Gibson was an incredibly prolific author, writing under his name, as well as his alias, Maxwell Grant. He wrote on a variety of topics, such as pulp stories for The Shadow, crime stories and articles, science, magic, and others.
Condition
