GRANT, Ulysses S. (1822-1885). Signed presidential appointment for Postmaster at Oxford in the County of Chester, State of Pennsylvania (?Ulysses S. Grant?). [Washington, D.C.]: 22 June 1874. One page, 4to (342 x 429 mm). On printed appointment template parchment, with the seal of the Post Office in the lower left corner (1 vertical crease, 3 horizontal creases, minor toning, with minor occasional faint soiling). THIS DOCUMENT APPOINTS THOMAS H. THOMPSON TO THE POSITION OF POSTMASTER AT OXFORD IN THE COUNTY OF CHESTER, IN PENNSYLVANIA. It is countersigned by the Postmaster General, James W. Marshall (1822-1910). Beautifully matted, framed and glazed, with a photo of Grant (a bit loose in frame), and an engraved plaque (not examined out of frame). Frame size: 677 x 993 mm.
