London: Heinemann, [1961]. 8vo. 256 pp. Publisher?s full black cloth, spine stamped in silver, publisher?s unclipped (?16s Net?) dust jacket (light rubbing to cloth binding; jacket spine toned and lightly worn at edges with a few small chips and tears on panels). Very good. FIRST ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDITION (it was first published in Swedish in 1960). This novel, based on Greene?s travels in Africa, takes place in a leper colony in the Belgian Congo.
