Following on the heels of our 'Artifacts of Play' auction, this sale will celebrate the pastimes of yesteryear and the recent past. The auction will feature antique and modern playing cards and gambling memorabilia, elaborate vintage board games, and puzzles and curiosities, including an extensive offering of rare paper dolls, from various collections.

Group of Sculptural Puzzles. United States, mid-20th century. Group of four “decorative” sculptural puzzles including Ego Sculptural Puzzle. Akron: Austin Enterprises, ca. 1960s. Interlocking aluminum and rosewood burr puzzle with original packaging. -- Incas Dilemma II. Meteor, Ohio: Mag-Nif, Inc., 1975. With 18 pieces of wood with 12 aluminum locking rods. -- The Philosopher’s Knot. Los Angeles: Futuristix Products, 1970. A glass orb is trapped inside of a polyhedron constructed of 12 wooden rods and knotted string. In the original box. – [Together with] Wooden Cube Assembly Puzzle. Circa 20th century. Three-dimensional wooden cube assembly puzzle with wood base and acrylic border casing. Approx. 4 ¾ x 5 x 5”. Finely crafted, very good.
