Group of Two Autograph Items, plus a Text Leaf from Piranesi, including: LAWRENCE, Sir Thomas (1769-1830). Autograph Note Signed with Envelope. [Ca. early 19th century]. Note signed with initials (?T.L.?) and signed manuscript envelope. Sight of letter 5 ? x 4 ??, sight of envelope 2 ? x 4?. Matted and framed with a later portrait of Lawrence and a color print of his portrait of Elizabeth Farren, 17 x 25?. Letters a bit faded, soiled, two visible horizontal creases, some wear to frame. Very good. Lawrence was one of the greatest portrait painters of the Regency; two of his most famous paintings are his portraits of the Duke of Wellington (1814) and ?Pinkie? (Sarah Barrett Moulton, 1794). [And:] [SPANISH LOAN DOCUMENT]. ?El presente Villete servira de documento con qu.el Portador de la Accio?? Madrid: May 1, 1799. Engraved document with a manuscript number and signatures of Juan de Paula Rodrigues and Pedro Roca. Sight approximately 8 ? x 7?. Matted and framed under glass 14 ? x 13?. Minor soiling to document. Fine. This is a loan document voucher for a royal loan that was decreed on October 1798. [And:] PIRANESI, Giovanni Battista (1720-1778). Text Leaf with an Engraving of an Etruscan Column Capital. [1769]. Taken from Diverse maniere d?adornare i Camini. Approximately 22 x 15?. Text on recto and verso. Affixed with tape at upper left corner verso to mount. Foxed, left margin trimmed a bit unevenly. Good. Measurements: 17 x 25?.
