[HAND-COLORED AQUATINT]. [NELSON, Lord Horatio (1758-1805), subject]. A Perspective View of the Grand Funeral Car Which Carried the Body of the Much Lamented Lord Nelson From the Admiralty to St. Paul?s, in Great Procession, on the 9th January, 1806. [London: 1806]. Rare hand-colored plate depicting the custom-built funeral car, made to look like a Man-o-War. Sight approximately 13 x 8 ??. Matted and framed under glass. Frame size approximately 21 ? x 17?. Print a bit toned, horizontal crease visible at center, some visible marginal creasing. Fine. Built for the sole purpose of conveying the remains of Nelson to St. Paul's Cathedral for internment, on Thursday the 9th of January, 1806. The car has since been dismantled and destroyed with only the ship's figurehead remaining. A very rare and highly sought print. Not examined out of frame.
