[HAND-MADE DECOUPAGE BOX]. [BONAPARTE, Napoleon (1769-1821), subject]. Hand-made Decoupage Box. [Ca. 1810s]. This original decoupage presentation of the Emperor is mounted on a circular cardstock paper box. Approximately 4 ?? in diameter, 1? high. The hand colored engraving has been cut as a silhouette and placed over a silk embroidered sunburst on a fabric (silk?) backing, creating an impressive display, encased with decorative brass rim under glass; the bottom has a decorative brass rim. Light rubbing, minor wear. Fine. Such boxes are rare due to their ephemeral nature.
