HARDEEN (Theo Weiss, -1944). Two Candid Photographs of Hardeen. Circa 1910. A pair of snapshots taken in Kansas City, Missouri. The first pictures Hardeen (brother of Houdini) together with Beatrice Houdini, Hardeen's wife [?] and a young man. Houdini's dog, Charlie, stands in the foreground. The image is captioned in pencil (presumably by a Houdini family member), ?Bess telling Hardeen he is not as good as Houdini." The writer has also identified the location and written the name of Houdini's dog on the canine. The second image shows Hardeen beside a horse drawn carriage in the company of several other men and boys. 4 x 5" each, one with clipped corners. Scrapbook remnants to versos. A charming pair of likely unpublished images. Provenance: Collection of Beatrice Houdini, passed to consignor by descent.
