HARDISON, Ruth Inge (American, 1914?2016). Bust of Benjamin Banneker (1731?1806). [1968]. Terracotta sculpture with painted bronze finish. Signed/inscribed on the shoulder. Depicts the African-American farmer, naturalist, mathematician, astronomer, and almanac author, with the caption, ?A Negro put the White House where it is today? and additional information on the underside. From the Old Taylor Series, Ingenious Americans. 8 ? x 6 x 4 ??. Chipping to the corners of the base and several other areas. Labels worn. Good condition.
