Harve Poe Tattooist Jumbo Business Card and ALS. Lake Luzerne, NY, ca. 1930s. Oversized business card for the magician, tattooist, chalk talk performer, and lecturer "Harve" H. Poe, the recto printed with a Native American chief behind text advertising his Oregon Indian Medicine Co. The verso includes a short ANS to George "Pinxy" Larsen of Chicago, the noted wood carver and puppet maker, requesting a list of vent figures and marionettes available. 3 x 5 1/8". 

Pinxy was a highly-regarded wood carver and Punch and Judy performer, but few know he was also a fully tattooed man, with ink running from his neck to his ankles, and one wrist to the other. He concealed his many tattoos for years by wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants. 

Condition

One corner chipped, faint scribbles to front.
