[2, blank], [viii], [1]-355, [3, blank] pp. Publisher's full black cloth, gold printed labels on front board and spine, publisher's unclipped (?$2.50") dust jacket designed by Cleon (minor rubbing to cloth spine, light occasional thumbsoiling to endleaves, text slightly toned; jacket toned (slightly more so at spine), some creases, some edgewear at corners). Still, a fine copy, better than usually seen.FIRST TRADE EDITION IN THE FIRST ISSUE DUST JACKET (with the misspelling, ?Katharine", on the front flap). This novel became Hemingway's first bestseller and is considered to be the most important World War I novel by an American.
