HEMINGWAY, Ernest (1899-1961). Autograph Letter Signed to Arnold Gingrich. Key West: Sunday April 9, 1930. Two and one-half pages on two leaves on brown (formerly white?) plain paper. Written in pencil. Approximately 11 x 8 1/2". Addressed "Dear Mr Gingrich:" and signed "Yours always Ernest Hemingway". In this letter, Hemingway mentions Captain Cohn (New York rare book dealer Louis Henry Cohn (1916-1953)), the book business, and laments that he didn't sell the film rights to Death in the Afternoon: "I was a damned fool not to sell that title [Death in the Afternoon] to Hollywood - But I will be damned if I will pan what they do with one and then sell them another with no control over what happens to it-"

Condition

Each leaf with two vertical and one horizontal creases, some minor rubbing, occasional faint creases near corners. Fine.
