Attractively hand-colored steel engraving of this famous scene after Hogarth?s original painting, depicting the attendees, acts, and overall chaos of the fair, including images of a rope dancer, Isaac Fawkes presenting conjuring tricks in his booth, a peep show in the foreground, as well as pickpockets, dice games, and theatrical productions. Captioned in lower left, ?Invented Painted & Engrav?d by Wm. Hogarth, 1733.? A large example on laid paper, 18 7/8 x 24?. Stain in right margin, else very good.
