HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Conjurers' Monthly Magazine Printing Block. Circa 1906. Copper printing plates mounted on wooden blocks, bearing text and a caricature of Houdini next to an escape trunk in high relief. The larger 4 3/8 x 4 3/4 x 7/8". Sold together with a subscription form for the magazine printed with the blocks which includes advertising for Martinka & Co. as agent for subscriptions above the image. 

Houdini published and edited this influential periodical for two years, and used some of the articles published in its pages as the basis for his book, The Unmasking of Robert-Houdin. This copper plate was used by Houdini to print subscription forms for the journal.
