Marking 100 years since the death of Harry Houdini, Potter & Potter will present a landmark sale of Houdini memorabilia on October 31, 2026 at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The sale brings to the public for the very first time 100 historic items from the collection of Kevin Connolly, many of which were personally owned by Houdini.

HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Harry & Bess Houdini Pocket Mirrors. [Philadelphia, ca. 1933]. A pair of oval celluloid-backed pocket mirrors, one bearing a bust portrait of Houdini, the other a portrait of his wife Bess. The Houdini mirror bears his name in a printed script, and the Bess mirror reproduces her autograph over the top of the portrait. Approximately 2 ½ x 2”. Keuthe MC17/MC18. Forgaard/Sperber PM33/PM34. RARE.

These pocket-size “mirror cards” were presented to members of the Houdini Club of Philadelphia by Beatrice Houdini at its annual banquet on Jan. 7th, 1933. Fewer than ten sets are known. 

Condition

Faint tarnishing to the perimeter of the mirrors; about near fine.
