HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini Master Mystifier. [1926]. Two-color window card for Houdini's final tour, and advertising his appearance at the Providence, Rhode Island Opera House beginning on Sept. 20. A black-and-white portrait of Houdini appears in the upper left with advertising text regarding his "3 Shows in One," a performance of escapes, magic tricks, and exposures of fraudulent mediums. 22 x 14", framed to 27 x 19".
The date at the top of this poster is somewhat misleading, as Houdini did not open in Providence until the following week due to being held over in Boston, the prior stop on his coast-to-coast tour. When he did finally arrive in Rhode Island, Houdini met with H.P. Lovecraft, and lectured at Brown University, in addition to appearing at the Opera House.
