Marking 100 years since the death of Harry Houdini, Potter & Potter will present a landmark sale of Houdini memorabilia on October 31, 2026 at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The sale brings to the public for the very first time 100 historic items from the collection of Kevin Connolly, many of which were personally owned by Houdini.

HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini S.A.M. Card Fan Program and Menu. New York, 1908. Keepsake made of four playing cards bound with string and tassel, printed with the ten-part program of the Fourth Annual S.A.M. Annual Dinner at the Hotel Malborough, including “The World Famous Houdini/ Original Jail Breaker and Handcuff King/By special request Mr. Houdini will present the mysterious Hindoo Needle Trick, first presented in London, England by Ramo Samee in 1818.” Other magicians on the bill include Harry Kellar, Horace Goldin, T. Nelson Downs, Roltare, and Imro Fox. Dot and asterisk back design (and one Steamboat); poker size. SCARCE. Offered with the larger printed menu for the annual event, not frequently encountered. 

The final card in the fan offered here is of a vastly different back design than the others, and this card may not be present in all surviving sets of the souvenir program that have survived.
