Marking 100 years since the death of Harry Houdini, Potter & Potter will present a landmark sale of Houdini memorabilia on October 31, 2026 at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The sale brings to the public for the very first time 100 historic items from the collection of Kevin Connolly, many of which were personally owned by Houdini.

HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Master Mystery Episode 9 Lobby Card. New York: The Rotograph Co., 1919. Sepia tone lobby card for episode nine of Houdini's silent serial film produced by B.A. Rolfe and based on the book by Arthur B. Reeve. A sinsister looking villain holds down a damsel in distress as a giant robot - billed in the film as "Q," the automaton - approaches them. 11 x 14". 

This episode of the film, "The Magagascan Menace," derived its name from the gas weapon used by the robot to defend a powerful cartel that Houdini's character is investigating. The automaton "Q" was the first robot to appear on film. Arthur Reeve authored The Master Mystery, and other items related to his collaboration with Houdini are also offered in this auction.
