Fascinating trove of letters and photographs from escapologist James Randi to John Fisher, supplied as research for a television series produced by Fisher, providing working methods and technical details for Houdini?s Water Torture Escape. The group is complemented by an original metal piece from the prop (length 2 1/8?) recovered by Randi after it was destroyed in a fire. Comprising: An audio cassette recording of Randi with explanations of the Water Torture Cell; eight letters and cards from Randi discussing the prop and other matters such as television projects and book deals; 14 glossy black and white detailed photos of the Water Torture Cell, stamped ?Confidential?, numbered and labeled by hand; three strips of photo negatives; and magazine extracts related to the Water Torture Cell.
