Inter-Change. Middlesex: Alan Warner, ca. 1990s. A spectator places a blank tablet into a teak box, the performer taps it using a paddle with inlaid characters on both sides. Suddenly one of the characters on the paddle disappears, when the tablet is removed from the box it is revealed that the character is now inlaid on its surface. Box ? x 3 ? x 1 ??. Very good.
