Approximately 300 golden invitations (printed on golden paper) were issued by Bess Houdini. This is the first example we have encountered produced with silver paper. RARE.

Beatrice Houdini staged a séance on the anniversary of Houdini's death - October 31, 1926 - every year for ten years. The final séance conducted by Mrs. Houdini and Edward Saint was held on the roof of the Los Angeles Knickerbocker Hotel. After an hour of calling for Houdini's presence without his appearance, the final words of the proceedings were uttered by Beatrice Houdini and Edward Saint:

Saint: "Mrs. Houdini. The zero hour has passed. The ten years are up. have you reached a decision?"

Mrs. Houdini: "Yes. Houdini did not come through. My last hope is gone. I do not believe that Houdini can come back to me, or to anyone. After faithfully following through the Houdini ten year compact, after using every type of medium and seance, it is my personal and positive belief that spirit communication in any form is impossible. I do not believe that ghosts or spirits exist. The Houdini shrine has burned for ten years. I now reverently turn out the light. Good night, Harry."
