[JAPAN]. A photograph album of 68 gelatin silver prints of Nikko, 24-26 May 1914, compiled by a German traveler. Includes travelers snapshot views (3 x 4?) and professional hand-tinted photos (2 x 3), each capturing Japanese tradition and local trades, only eight weeks before Japan would declare war against Germany on 23 August 1914; housed in an oblong 12mo contemporary silk album, title-page in manuscript (some separation to front joint). A beautifully documented trip to the charming town of Nikko.
