JEIN, Gregory (1945-2022). Sketches and Ephemera from Modelmaker Greg Jein. [Los Angeles, ca. 20th - 21st centuries]. Archive includes: 3 pencil sketches of unspecified science fiction subjects (3 x 5" each), 24 color snapshots (4 x 6") of various models built by Jein's company (including Air Force One (1997), and other unspecified sets), and 32 sheets or staple-bound sheets of various studio documents or correspondence. 

Some of the correspondence includes: a Star Trek Convention License Agreement cover letter, a letter on Star Trek IV letterhead to academy members touting the miniatures and special effects, a "Starfleet Command Structure" sheet, a budget sheet for Star Trek (TOS) episode, The Empath, a post production schedule for Star Trek: Voyager for the 6th season, 2 letters to Jein from D & E Miniatures, several sheets of Loan Agreements for props to be lent for an exhibition at the Arco Center for Visual Art, and more. Jein created models for many successful films, including Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek V and VI, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Air Force One, Tora Tora Tora!, Batman (1966), Fantastic Voyage, Doctor Doolittle (1967), and many more. 

Condition

Some rubbing, occasional wear, occasional pencil or pen notations. Generally fine. Housed in binder.
