London: Henry Walker, [1930]. 8vo. 171, [1, blank], [4, ads] pp. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board ruled in yellow, spine ruled and lettered in yellow. Facsimile dust jacket. FIRST EDITION OF HER UNCOMMON FIRST BOOK, A COLLECTION OF HORROR STORIES. She only published two books, both collections of horror stories.

Muspratt's stories "are examples of an intermediate stage in the development of popular supernatural fiction between the 'Penny Bloods' of the Victorian era and the modern pulp horror genre..." (Wilson p. 375.) 

Condition

Spine toned and rubbed, some light wear to corners, rear board lightly scuffed and soiled, endleaves offset, some toning in text. Very good.
