Title on the front of the portfolio is hand-drawn. A unique set with an original oil painting. Johnson was an American illustrator and newspaper artist. He is best known for his illustrations of the 1890 American edition of The Princess by Alfred Lord Tennyson. He worked for a number of magazines including Life, Truth, Munsey?s Magazine, and some newspapers.
