JORDAN, Charles T. (1888-1944). Nine First or Early Editions of Jordan’s Titles on Card Magic. [V.p., ca. 1920-1947]. 8vos or oblong 4to. Publisher’s staple-bound wrappers Generally worn, soiled, toned, occasional toning, wear to text, occasional ownership markings or inkstamps. Generally very good. A large collection of Jordan’s output before Karl Fulves published his collected works. Titles include: Thirty Card Mysteries (presumed first edition (4to, 1919) and a second edition – first edition has “The Thirty-First Mystery” typewritten page laid-in). And the following first editions: Ten New Impromptu Card Tricks; Sleight of Hand Ten New Card Tricks; Ten New Miscellaneous Tricks; Ten New Prepared Card Tricks; Ten New Pocket Tricks (two – one rebacked in black tape); The Four Full Hands. Although Jordan never performed in public, he invented several card tricks, most notably, the Jordan Count.
