KELLAR, Harry (Heinrich Keller, 1849 ? 1922). Kellar's Beautiful Production. The Queen of Roses. Cincinnati & New York: The Strobridge Litho. Co., 1895. Half-sheet color lithograph depicts the great American magician producing a comely lady dressed in white from a giant growth of roses resting atop a table. 30 x 20". Bright and crisp, with wide margins. A. Linen backed. RARE.Kellar performed this production number for a few seasons as a follow-up to his Morritt Cage effect billed as the ?Shrine of Koomra Sami." According to Chicago magician H.J. Burlingame, audience members saw, ?a small innocent looking table is placed in front of the center of stage setting, and Kellar standing on top of same or on a high chair, hangs a curtain around a hoop about six feet above table top. This curtain reaches to about one inch below the top of table. In a moment this curtain is removed and a large basket in style of a hamper is seen resting upon the table, and sitting in the basket is seen Mrs. Kellar made up as a ?Queen of Roses." Very pretty and effective." (Stanyon's MAGIC, April, 1904).
