[KUBRICK, Stanley (1928-1999), contributor]. THOMPSON, Jim (1906-1977). Lunatic at Large: Photocopied Early Draft, 4 Later Treatments, Finished Screenplay. [V.p., ca. 20th - 21st centuries]. 4tos. Text on rectos only. In spiral bound wrappers or binders.
Included: "Lunatic at Large" An Original Screenplay by Jim Thompson (screenplay is written in narrative form, not in traditional screenplay format); First Draft of "Lunatic at Large" - original story by Stanley Kubrick, treatment by Jim Thompson, screenplay by Anthony Frewin (screenplay is in traditional screenplay format, printed much later than the above treatment); "Lunatic at Large" original story by Stanley Kubrick, treatment by Jim Thompson (4 copies, of the same vintage as the screenplay by Frewin). 5-page treatments. Kubrick came up with the story, and asked his frequent collaborator, Jim Thompson, to write a screenplay (Thompson's screenplay is more of an extended treatment than a traditional screenplay). As of 2021, producers Bruce Hendricks and Galen Walker were said to have been about to begin filming this film noir, but it seems as if the project never got off the ground.
Occasional rubbing. Generally fine.
