L?Indigence and Opulence. French, mid 19th century. Pair of handsomely colored lithographs of young women; one wrapped in a blanket signifying ?poverty? and the other dressed in ornate jewelry with an elegant shawl wrapped around her shoulders signifying ?riches?, each surrounded by a gilt printed oval frame. 28 x 22?. Unmounted. Chipping to borders, verso lightly foxed with a concentrated scatter to image. A fine example of 19th century lithographic printing.
