LAFAYETTE (Sigmund Neuberger, 1871 ? 1911). Hold to the Light Postcard. [British], 1911. Color lithographed card shows a cavalry man on horseback on the recto with his sword extended and dead soldiers on the ground before him. Text on the verso states, ?Hold to the Light to See the Fight? and advertises Lafayette at the Sheffield Hippodrome on April 17, 1911, one month before his tragic death. When held to a light source, a silhouetted battle scene appears on the card. Divided back, postally unused. Wear from scrapbook removal to verso. Good.
