Lembrança: Brazilian Souvenir Picture Frame. Circa late 19th/early 20th century. Utilizes reverse glass painting and iridescent butterfly wings to depict scenes of palm trees and landscapes. Inscribed "Lembrança" and "Rio." Includes a black-and-white nude photograph. 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 1/2".
Condition
Approximately 4 1/2" diagonal crack at top right. Some losses to paint.
Photograph: toned, minor marginal tears, and loss to top left.
