Leon (Leon H. Levy). Leon & Co. the Wonder Workers Present Fire and Water. London: Haycock-Cadle, ca. 1910. Resplendent in his “Hindu” costume studded with rhinestones, Leon applies a torch to a table on which stands a lovely lady. She vanishes in a wisp of smoke and flame, only to reappear inside a water-filled tank hanging some distance away on the stage. In the poster, the smoke forms a question mark as it rises from the pyre. 39 x 87". A. Scarce. A seldom-encountered poster, and the only known full-color lithograph advertising the whirlwind vaudeville show of The Great Leon. A variant of the poster over-printed for The Great Raymond is also known, but is equally scarce.
