One-sheet stone lithograph shows LeRoy, Talma, and Bosco, in the basket of a hot air balloon outfitted with a cannon (and piloted by an imp), and firing on the balloon of Mephistopheles, who looks on in horror as he falls to earth. 37 ? x 28?. Minor restoration to old folds and short tears in margins, A-. Linen backed. SCARCE.While it was printed in the same year as the flamboyant orange, red, and yellow Friedlander lithos used by LeRoy, this poster is entirely different in style and makeup. Only a handful of examples have crossed the auction block in the last fifty years.
