Dr. Lacy then writes about his passion for the American Civil War, and asks permission to X-Ray the fragments at nearby Walter Reed Hospital during a visit he has planned in Alexandria, VA. He gives 2 reasons for this request: ?1) my long term devotion and interest to the study of the American Civil War and to the events surrounding the Lincoln assassination and 2) my neuroradiological knowledge and experience and desire to perhaps write a textbook concerning the medical and radiologic aspects of the assassination."
