[LITERARY]. A pair of George Eliot photographic portraits on card stock, one of which is hand-painted over the photo. [London: ca. 1880s]. Culver photo service stamp on verso of unpainted photo. Toned, soiled, some chipping and wear, some sticker remnants on verso. Elliot (Evans) (1819-1880) was a famous English novelist whose works (Silas Marner, Middlemarch, The Mill on the Floss and others) are still popular today. Approximately 165 x 108 mm and smaller.
