[MANUSCRIPT / GALLEYS]. DERLETH, August (1909-1971). Typescript, Proof Copy, Related Letters , and Other Materials for "Harrigan's File." Sauk City, WI: Arkham House, ca. 1975. Typescript for this collection with editorial notes by Jim Turner or Roderick Meng (241 pp)., a proof copy of loose sheets (with notes, 256 pp.), two set-up blocks of loose sheets (255 pp. each, one with editorial markings), a stapled group of 9 pages of manuscript notes (blue ballpoint and red marker) and corrections presumably by Turner or Meng, three letters about typesetting or dust jacket issues addressed to Meng, a few proof sheets for this title, other pages related to the production of this book. Offered with a first edition of this title in dust jacket (1975, minor rubbing, else fine).

This posthumous title collects all of Derleth's science fiction stories. These stories all feature his character, reporter Tex Harrigan. These stories are a departure from the genre's typical reliance on scientific jargon and outlandish aliens and spaceships. Extraordinary events are seen through everyman Harrigan's eyes, similar in nature to Carl Kolchak of Kolchak: The Night Stalker fame.

Condition

The usual wear, creasing, soiling that one would expect from working production materials. Fine.
