London: John Arrowsmith, 1854. Two folding, linen-backed maps hand colored in outline with marbled self-covers. First map approximately 22 1/2 x 26"; second map approximately 26 x 33 1/2". Both housed in a handsome contemporary full leather case with "Crimea" stamped in gilt on front cover.
Some light rubbing. Near fine. RARE IN THIS CONDITION. The first map covers the entire Crimea peninsula and has two insets (Sebastopol Inlet and Harbor; the Black Sea area). The finely-detailed second map shows the southern portion of the Crimea with roads, villages, etc., clearly shown, with two insets (Sebastopol and the entire land around the Black Sea).
