Illustrated with portrait frontispice of Marie Antoinette and engraved title-page depicting a kneeling Louis XVII. 108 pp. Bound in near contemporary red calf backstrip over textured red boards, spine tooled and lettered in gilt, edges stained yellow, marbled endleaves (some wear, light soiling to binding, some foxing to text, pp. 89-92 loose but present). Good. FIRST EDITION OF THIS UNCOMMON BIOGRAPHY OF MARIE ANTOINETTE.
