Massive Lot of Carnival and Circus Photo Scrapbooks. American, ca. 1940s/80s. Two bins filled with scrapbooks (24 total), primarily containing color and black and white snapshots, with occasional clippings and ephemera, related to many different railroad carnivals and circuses. Images of performers, midways, carnival rides, games, concessions, banners and posters, and vehicles and train cars on which the shows were transported. Carnivals and circuses include Dales Bros., King Bros., Sells & Gray, Adams Bros., Dailey Bros., Gentry Bros., Al. G. Kelly-Miller, Clyde Bros., Wm. T. Collins, Carson & Barnes, Childress, Harden, Circus Vargas, Cristiani, Century 21 Shows, Lawrence Carr, and James Drew, among many others. Primarily folio and quarto scrapbooks, some with missing covers. Some scrapbooks with removed pages and items; overall condition fair to very good. Incredible photographic archive that must be seen.
