MAVEN, Max (1950 ? 2022). Max Maven?s Tabletop Spirit Painting. 1970s? Gilt wood frame mounted on a shallow wooden box with a light source mounted to the rear. Two blank canvases are signed, placed face-to-face, and placed in the frame. Slowly and eerily, a full-color painting visibly develops, which is removed and passed to the spectators. Includes gimmick, box, and canvases. 20 x 16 x 8?. Based on a Paul Fox and Thayer design, but activated with a small external motor.
