McKinley & Hobart: Colorful Salesman's Sample of a Jugate Street Banner. Spectacular 8 1/4" x 10" 1896 campaign salesman's sample. The actual banners were huge, stretching across the entire street, and the elements, attached to a mesh, looking to float freely when viewed from a distance. The piece pictures jugate images of William McKinley and Garret Hobart, with campaign slogans above their heads. Below the candidates names are boldly presented. More often than not when offered these pieces have significant damage and loss. This example is nearly unimprovable, with what appears to be the original string attached. A fantastic centerpiece for a late 19th century political collection

Minor nick at the top right corner of the jugate piece. The piece retains bold vibrant colors and graphics. One would be hard pressed to find a finer example.
