[MCMANUS-YOUNG MAGIC COLLECTION]. Archive of letters, photographs, documents, and ephemera related to the McManus-Young Magic Collection. Including: correspondence between Morris N. Young (1909-2002) and Jennings Young, Chief of the Exchange and Gift Division of the Library of Congress and others concerning the presentation of the enormous McManus-Young magic collection to the Library of Congress. Also included are photographs (including a rare, signed photograph of legendary magician, Harry Blackstone, Sr. (1885-1965)), newspaper clippings, a typed manuscript for the catalogue of the 1955 exhibit (?The Art and Craft of Magic?), programs of various events (not all related to the exhibit ? there?s a program for the ?Official Houdini S?ance (1996), and more. An excellent and fascinating archive related to one of the most legendary magic collections and its disposition.
