The Battles of The British Army in Portugal, Spain and France From the Year 1808 to 1818 Under the Command of England?s Great Captain Arthur Duke of Wellington. London: Edw. Orme, 1815. 12 (of 13) hand-colored roundel images of battles, all mounted separately on card with descriptive text on versos; with two printed title roundels mounted on the inside of the circular case. All roundels approximately 2 ?? in diameter (some toning, soiling, verso of ?Battle of Waterloo? is scuffed with loss of text, some wear, tears to title roundels. Housed in the original bronze medallion case with upper and lower pieces, one with profile of Wellington (?England?s Great Captain Arthur Duke of Wellington?) and the other with an angel writing a tablet (?Record of British Valour?) captioned ?Picture Medal Edw. Orme Direx Bond St. London? (some light tarnishing or wear). A fine example of this rare and unusual item. Abbey Life 466.
