Gilt-finished copper medallion with Victory holding a shield with Nelson?s likeness (?Europe?s Hope and Britain?s Glory?) on recto, and Nelson?s battle fleet captioned ?Almighty God Has Blessed His Majesty?s Arms / Victory of the Nile August 1, 1798? on verso. On the edge of the medallion is engraved, ?From Alexr Davison Esqr. St. James?s Square = a Tribute of Regard.? Approximately 1 ?? in diameter. Tarnished, soiled, rubbed. Very good.
