An unusual relic of early American medical training. This anatomy course was taught by Agnew (1818-1892), who was a prominent Civil War surgeon and, later, a professor. The painting, The Agnew Clinic (1889 by Thomas Eakins) commemorated his retirement from the University of Pennsylvania.
