With the following stamped on verso: ?Warranted Oil Colors / Entered According to an Act of Congress, in the Year 1864, by E. C. Middleton, Sight approximately 16 x 13?. Framed under glass in the original elaborate oval frame. Frame size approximately 22 x 19?. Some wear, chipping to frame. Fine. Middleton invented a process to print oil images on canvas so average people could display handsome portraits of Civil War figures on canvas for affordable prices. Not examined out of frame.
