Ministry of Finance “Peet Aren” Playing Cards. Odiste, ca. 1921. 52/52 + OB (possibly replaced). Excellent. The Ministry of Finance commissioned the artist Peet Aren to design a pack of cards for them. He did designs for Estonian bank notes and stamps. The soldier of hearts is a self-portrait of the artist. Only four full decks were printed due to the lack of quality paper that in turn led to poor printing. “DWGBE” printed on the AS. The courts are designed in Art Deco style. Scarce.
