MORRIS, Chester (1901 - 1970). "My Fair Lady" Correspondence and Group of Signed Letters from Broadway Elite, including Richard Rodgers. V.p., 1950s/60s. Includes a 1957 playbill for the Mark Hellinger Theatre production of My Fair Lady, along with a handwritten letter from Chester Morris to Rex Harrison, one of the biggest stars of theater and movies from the 1940s through the 1960s, who was at the time starring in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production, alongside Julie Andrews. In the letter, Morris expresses his regret about finally having to ask for tickets, for "any night, or even a matinee," as they had become impossible to get through any other connection, especially considering the production's popularity.
Ten signed letters total are also included, with personal and professional correspondence from important members of the Broadway community, all on personal letterhead, including:
